Join Utah Valley University's Department of Languages as an adjunct French instructor and help students build language proficiency and cultural understanding in an engaging academic environment. In this role, you will contribute to student success by delivering high-quality instruction, fostering active learning, and supporting students as they develop communication skills that prepare them for academic, professional, and global opportunities.

This position offers the flexibility of adjunct teaching while allowing you to share your expertise and passion for the French language and francophone cultures. Summary of Responsibilities

* Design and teach courses in French language, including grammar, composition, conversation, and francophone culture.

* Plan, prepare, and deliver instruction aligned with an approved French curriculum, including measurable learning objectives for each course.

* Develop instructional materials such as syllabi, lesson plans, assessments, multimedia resources, and language-learning activities.

* Instruct, manage, and engage students in classroom and language lab settings using effective methods for second-language acquisition.

* Assess student learning and language proficiency through appropriate evaluation methods, including oral, written, and comprehension-based assessments.

* Maintain a student-centered approach that supports language development, cultural awareness, and academic success.

* Evaluate student progress and recommend advancement based on demonstrated language proficiency and course outcomes.

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records related to student attendance, performance, participation, and progress in language acquisition.

* Coordinate experiential or applied learning opportunities in French, such as conversation groups, cultural activities, or community engagement, as assigned.

* Collaborate with counselors, faculty, and department leadership to support student success and maintain a strong French language program.

* Adhere to principles of academic freedom and professional responsibility in language instruction.

* Maintain a safe, effective, and engaging classroom or language lab environment that supports active language learning.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Master's degree in French or a related field from an accredited institution; OR a bachelor's degree with two (2) years of relevant teaching or professional experience.
