The Utah County Academy of Sciences (UCAS) is a public early college high school located in Orem, Utah. UCAS students are working to accelerate their education in science, technology, engineering, or math.

To help students excel in their knowledge of health and health sciences. To create a classroom atmosphere which encourages creative thinking, promotes excellent knowledge acquisition, and fosters a love of learning. Provide a safe, stimulating environment, and develop a strong sense of ethics with the high school students.

Current Utah Teaching License preferred. Must model honesty, integrity, and exemplary character. Applicants must work well with high school-age students.

Experience in education preferred.

185 days (180 school days, 5 prep days) beginning August 2026. UCAS participates in the Utah Retirement System, provides sick leave and personal leave to all teachers.

Salary varies with experience and education. See the Board Approved Salary Schedule posted on the Utah County Academy of Sciences website:

• Teach the state core curriculum and additional appropriate curriculum items to prepare students for life.
• Learn and understand the parent advisory committee's wishes and requests regarding health education at UCAS.
• Help students master health concepts.
• Follow state law and UCAS requirements regarding sex education.
• Maintain lesson plans, outlines, and a detailed course scope and sequence; provide substitute lesson plans for illness or emergency.
• Plan and implement an instructional program that uses diverse teaching methods to meet the individual needs, interests, abilities, and maturity levels of students.
• Be available to assist students outside of class time (before school, after school, or during lunch).
• Collaborate with other instructors to ensure smooth transitions for students moving between classes and levels.

• Attend faculty meetings and professional development meetings.
• Act as a contributing staff member to foster a positive, cooperative educational environment.

• Evaluate and provide regular individual student progress information; maintain required records; give accurate, sensitive feedback on assignments.
• Establish and enforce a reasonable classroom discipline plan; supervise students at all times.
• Maintain a professional teacher-student relationship at all times.
