The WSU Associate Instructional Designer is responsible for assisting faculty members in all aspects of education, including instructional design and working with technology. This grant‑funded position will be primarily working with our Auto-Tech department to meet the requirements of a grant from the Department of Energy. This is a 24‑month temporary position funded by a grant program.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Education, or related field (or within two semesters of graduation)
- Professional experience consulting with subject matter experts (for example faculty or business clients)
- Experience with HTML editing tools, Microsoft Office applications (or equivalent), multimedia authoring tools, and learning (or course) management systems
- Master’s degree in Education, Instructional Technology, or related field
- Excellent working knowledge of adult learning theory
- Demonstrated ability to apply learning and instructional theory in practical settings
- Working familiarity with online learning tools, the internet, electronic communications, and e‑authoring tools
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven ability to creatively solve problems
- Experience leading course design projects in a collaborative environment
- Familiarity and experience with the complexities of teaching and learning in a higher‑education environment

light work, exerting up to 20 lb of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lb of force frequently, use of arm or leg controls exerting forces greater than sedentary work.
Visual acuity requirements: color, depth perception and field of vision, extensive reading, transcribing, using a computer terminal, data analysis.
Conditions: none. Not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
