Position Announcement
The School of Education at Utah Valley University invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track Lecturer faculty position as a Secondary Education faculty with expertise in classroom management, educational technology, and/or assessment of teaching quality in the Secondary & Special Education Department. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge of teacher education principles and practices as well as relevant K-12 teaching experience.
This individual will teach undergraduate courses in secondary education and related subjects aligned with their expertise. The position will begin on August 1st, 2026.

Of Responsibilities
- Teach professional level courses. Prepare instructional materials (course outlines, syllabi, exams, etc.) as necessary. Maintain student-centered approach to education. Teaches up to 30 credit hours between Fall and Spring semesters.
- Maintain and submit accurate and current reports and records involving student accountability and performance. Conference with students regarding coursework, field work, and academic endeavors. Improve professionally and maintain currency in the courses taught.
- Develop positive relationships with colleagues, public school teachers, administration, and other education stakeholders. Participate in the school accreditation process. Serve on committees and attend faculty and other meetings as assigned.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- Graduation from an accredited institution with a master’s degree in a field closely related to the field of instruction
- At least two years of relevant K-12 teaching experience
- Graduation from an accredited institution with a doctorate degree in a field closely related to the field of instruction
- At least two years of college/university teaching experience
- Earned relevant professional license or credentials
- International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) Certification
- K-12 leadership experience
- Expertise in teaching classroom management and/or disciplinary literacy
- Content required to teach relevant courses
- Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques
- Current in research, instructional theory, methods, strategies, assessments, technology, innovations and techniques in preservice teacher education including clinical programming and teacher performance assessment
