Join Utah Valley University's nationally recognized School of Aviation Sciences in one of two tenure-track faculty positions beginning January 2027 and help prepare the next generation of aviation professionals in a student-centered, teaching-focused environment. Summary of Responsibilities
  • Develop and teach undergraduate aviation courses in astudent-centered learning environment.
  • Engage in scholarly activities and/or creative works that support the missions of the university, department, and aviationprofession.
  • Participate in community outreach, industry partnerships, and curriculum development to align academic programs with workforce and industry needs.
  • Teach courses in a variety of formats, which may include day,evening, weekend, online, blended, and off-campus instruction.
  • Contribute to UVU's strong culture of teaching excellence bycreating engaging learning experiences that help students achievetheir educational goals.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Aviation or a related field to the coursework being taught.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in an Aviation-related field from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Higher education experience with online teaching experience.
Knowledge
  • Knowledge of the principles and methodology of adult teachingtechniques.
  • Knowledge of current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) policies, regulations, and procedures as related to best practices in industry.
  • Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data analysis and research methodology.
  • Knowledge of subject matter and course content.
  • Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques in upperand lower division courses.
  • Knowledge of student management, motivation, and evaluation of(peer and self) instruction.
  • Knowledge of program and curriculum development an devaluation.
  • Knowledge of and expertise in current trends in education, suchas engaged learning and service learning, learning technologies(e.g., digital technologies for classroom management and distanceeducation), public presenting, and report and grant writing.

  • Skills in assisting counselors and other department heads in maintaining an effective program.
