Utah Valley University (UVU) invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Provost of Engaged Learning and Workforce Development. Engaged Learning and Workforce Development is a university-wide hub that connects students, faculty, and external partners through hands-on, high-impact learning experiences. Home to more than a dozen programs, Engaged Learning and Workforce Development supports student success by offering research opportunities, graduation distinctions, industry connections, and more.
In collaboration with campus departments and community partners, the hub expands access to engaged learning and fosters participation from across the university and beyond.
The Associate Provost oversees the management and coordination of key engaged learning programs, ensuring they are thoughtfully integrated, effective, and aligned with university-wide goals. The position plays a central role in strengthening UVU's commitment to student-centered, practice-based education that leads to effective workforce development.
The university seeks a visionary academic leader who brings a deep understanding of national best practices in project-based, experiential, and engaged learning. The Associate Provost will guide programming that fosters collaboration, continuous improvement, and academic excellence. Utah Valley University (UVU) was founded in 1941 as Central Utah Vocational School, created to meet the workforce needs of the nation and a rapidly growing region. It expanded over time from technical training to comprehensive higher education. It became Utah Valley State College in 1993 and achieved university status in 2008, when the name changed to Utah Valley University. Academically, UVU is known for applied, career-connected learning.
It is the first university in Utah to establish an applied artificial intelligence institute, and it continues to expand programs aligned with high-demand fields.
