Job Summary
Moxtek is seeking a Technical Account Specialist to work with customer engineering teams to identify technical challenges and implement optical solutions that improve system performance using deep technical knowledge of optics, advanced materials, and chemical engineering. This role is ideal for optics engineers or chemical engineers who enjoy working at the intersection of technology, customer applications, and commercial strategy.
Key Responsibilities Technical Engagement- Work directly with customer engineering and R&D teams to understand application requirements and technical performance needs.
- Provide technical guidance and application support for Moxtek's optics technologies, including polarization-based solutions.
- Translate customer system requirements into technical product specifications and development opportunities.
- Serve as a commercial and technical liaison between customers and Moxtek's engineering and product development teams.
- Develop and manage relationships with strategic accounts and key technical decision-makers.
- Identify new opportunities where Moxtek's optics technologies can improve customer performance, efficiency, or product capabilities.
- Support business development activities by qualifying technical leads and identifying viable opportunities.
- Coordinate internal resources across R&D, engineering, marketing, and manufacturing to support customer solutions.
- Collaborate with marketing and product management to identify emerging applications and target markets.
- Provide feedback to engineering and product teams on customer needs, technical trends, and application requirements.
- Support development of technical messaging, application notes, and customer-facing materials.
- Maintain accurate opportunity tracking and forecasting within the CRM system.
- Provide regular updates on account status, pipeline development, and technical engagement progress.
- Support strategic planning and market development initiatives.
- Required:
BS or MS in a business discipline, optical engineering, chemical engineering, materials science, physics, or a related technical discipline. - Additional skills such as Mandarin or Japanese a plus.
- 3-5 years of experience in optics, materials science, semiconductor technology, or related technical fields.
- Experience working with optical systems, advanced materials, coatings, or polarization technologies is beneficial.
- Experience interacting with customers or cross-functional technical teams is required.
- Experience with semiconductor manufacturing, optical components, photonics technologies, or advanced materials manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of optical systems, materials, or polarization technologies (or ability to quickly develop expertise).
- Ability to interpret and discuss technical specifications, performance requirements, and system integration challenges.
- Experience collaborating with engineering, R&D, and product development teams.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to both engineers and business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to build trusted relationships with customer engineering teams and decision‑makers.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with interest in commercializing advanced technologies.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and technical documentation.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
