Overview

Bio-Rad is seeking a Field Service Engineer based in Utah to perform repairs, upgrades, and preventive maintenance on our Life Science instruments for customers in hospitals and laboratories. As a Field Service Engineer, you may also be asked to travel on short notice to support other team members within the region. Whether a routine maintenance call or troubleshooting a problem and finding solutions, you will play a leading role in supporting the onsite technical needs of Bio-Rad customers.

In this highly autonomous role, you will spend the majority of your time at customer sites, with travel up to 5 days a week in your assigned territory as part of a national service team.

Responsibilities
  • Performing repairs, upgrades, and preventative maintenance on Bio-Rad’s instruments, ensuring the quality performance of our instruments for customers who are working to advance the future of healthcare.
  • Supporting and maintaining Bio-Rad instruments on which customers rely to make scientific breakthroughs, helping to advance healthcare research and treatments.
  • Building and sustaining strong relationships to anticipate and advocate for our customers' needs.
  • Adhering to FDA and GMP regulations and requirements with detailed record keeping and service documentation to protect Bio-Rad’s integrity and reputation in the industry.
What You Bring
  • At least 3 years of transferable field service experience servicing electro-mechanical/electronic/optical/robotics equipment and an A.S. or B.S. in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (or a related field or military equivalent experience).
  • Ability to read, understand and successfully follow medium to highly complex work instructions.
  • Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong computer skills and fundamental knowledge of computer networking.
  • Strong customer relation and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for daily travel.
Preferred Skills To Support Your Success
  • Hands on experience with Diagnostic or Life Science instruments.
Location

This position covers the Salt Lake City, UT area. The individual must live within a geography that allows them to visit customers on-site on a daily basis.

Compensation

The estimated hourly range for this position is $31.20 to $42.88 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer and based on location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job-permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, dependent upon achievement of individual objectives and company performance.
