Northrop Grumman Strategic Deterrent Systems Division is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer / Senior Principal Systems Engineer. This position will be in Roy, UT and supporting the Sentinel Program.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will support the team across the full systems-engineering life cycle, from use-case development through verification. They will collaborate closely with Integrated Product Team (IPT) counterparts to produce rigorous systems-engineering and design artifacts, working with technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature a Weapon System design for a large-scale program.
Responsibilities include:
- Defining, allocating, and tracing requirements; ensuring those requirements are accurately represented in the system model;
- Performing functional decomposition and interface definition;
- Supporting verification activities;
- Developing the system architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture;
- Contributing to ongoing requirements development, management, and analysis while establishing unifying modeling techniques, procedures, and processes that enable seamless model development, tool integration, and team collaboration.
- Principal Systems Engineer level (T-03):
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM from an accredited university with 5 years of related experience, 3 years with a Master’s, 1 year with a PhD. - Senior Principal Systems Engineer level (T-04):
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM from an accredited university with 8 years of related experience, 6 years with a Master’s, 4 years with a PhD. - Active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
- Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
- 2+ years experience in Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs) (Minuteman III or Sentinel) or complex aerospace/defense systems.
- 2+ years experience in developing and executing Systems Engineering process governance documentation in a Department of Defense Engineering and Manufacturing Development phase.
- 2+ years experience in creating, updating, and maintaining requirements specifications in Dynamic Object-Oriented Requirements System (DOORS).
- 2+ years experience in large-scale or complex system development across multiple phases of a development program: preliminary design, detailed design, integration and test, verification and sell-off, transition to production.
- 2+ years experience in creating, updating, and maintaining Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) products.
- 1+ year experience in team environments with technical leadership responsibilities.
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience resolving issues and providing technical support.
- Capable of working with minimal direction and in team environments.
- Familiarity with SE events (e.g., Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Critical Design Review (CDR)).

Work Schedule: This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
CompensationPrimary Level Salary Range (T-03): $98,400.00 – $
Secondary Level Salary Range (T-04): $ – $
