Position: Sentinel – Systems Engineering Integration and Test Business Unit Deputy Programs Director 2

Position Overview

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is looking for a Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test Business Unit Deputy Programs Director in Roy, Utah. Relocation assistance may be available.

Clearance required:

Active DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead technical and business integration of the Sentinel SEIT Business Unit, reporting to the Vice President for Sentinel SEIT.
  • Deliver a broad scope of requirements, verification, certification, configuration control, enterprise integration, and operational sustainment deliverables for the national strategic missile program, operating with a 1,000+ member team.
  • Programmatic integration
    • Lead BU business and operations teams to drive accurate planning and execution to deliver predictable Profit & Loss across multiple SEIT Operating Units.
    • Lead workforce and facility/resource actions to enable team performance in collaboration with division Engineering and Operations.
    • Ensure contractual closure and communication of program‑level requirement updates and directed scope, often negotiated by SEIT on behalf of the program.
    • Partner with senior Air Force officers to jointly manage and track priorities.
  • Technical orchestration
    • Collaborate with the Chief Engineer’s office to align SEIT plans with program technical priorities and issues.
    • Lead technical action plans, milestone roadmaps, and progress metrics to drive execution and effective executive communication of system‑level work threads.
    • Negotiate handoffs with other NG teams and USAF for joint work products and lead across organizations to assure timely and high‑quality integrated deliverables.
    • Drive proactive opportunity and risk management, including negotiation of enterprise risk recognition by the customer for issues outside NG’s span of control.
    • Lead efficiency initiatives and corrective action plans.
  • Strategic leadership
    • Collaborate with the SEIT VP and leadership team to set long‑range business unit strategy, growth targets, and resource plans across all program phases.
    • Prepare and present executive briefings to explain system‑level plans and progress.
    • Represent the SEIT VP as an executive delegate at high‑visibility NG and government events.
Qualifications
  • Minimum:
    Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years of related experience, or Master’s and 8 years’ of experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years in leadership.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance with investigation completed within last 5 years.
  • Preferred: ICBM experience.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in working in a federated engineering organization.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in achieving results through managing people and understanding and management of internal processes and customer/supplier relationships.
  • Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager.
  • Prior experience interfacing with prime contractor site leads and USAF leadership personnel.
  • Strong understanding and broad application of engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, process control, facilities, etc.).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high‑value customer presentations, ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in making sound decisions in uncertain and difficult situations.
  • Strong sense of urgency and work ethic in ensuring engineering meets customer and program expectations in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Active DoD TS/SCI clearance (preferred).

Compensation

Primary Level Salary Range: $ – $.

Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and long‑term incentives for VP/Director positions.
