Commercial HVAC Mechanical Project Manager

Job Responsibilities

• The Project Manager is responsible for managing the installation of commercial HVAC equipment within various vertical markets, positively representing the company in all client and architect/engineer interactions
• Work with end-users, sales staff, and prime contractors to ensure a clear understanding of project scope and deliverables
• The Project Manager helps oversee and communicate project progression from inception to completion, including design, permits, material delivery, labor schedules, and field installation
• Develop a comprehensive project plan to meet schedules and budgets and conduct Work in Progress meetings
• Expected to develop working knowledge with Building Automation Systems (BAS);
  Carrier i‑Vu knowledge is a plus
• Understand and follow all published codes, standards, and unique project specifications
• Convey professionalism, fairness, and concern for customers, labor, and management
• Negotiate with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors
• Accurately forecast revenue each month by reviewing each project to estimate the value of work completed correctly
• Execute all major functions required for project management, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and close‑out
• Manage the Change Order process, ensuring that scope creep does not occur
• Assure that all projects are managed to or exceed their booked project margin
• Prioritize job safety on every project

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5+ years of experience in project management or 2+ years in mechanical installation, building automation, electrical installation, or construction field
• Ability to read blueprints, structural drawings, and understand complex building architectural, mechanical, and electrical documents

• Experience and/or certification in BACnet or LEED certification
• PMP certification or working toward PMP certification
• Associate’s Degree in electrical engineering or project management
• Ability to multi‑task and prioritize assignments with strong adherence to deadlines
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, both internally and externally
