Position Announcement
The gift shop kiosk clerk supports the Roots of Knowledge department by providing excellent customer service, responsibly promoting and selling merchandise, and contributing to an inspiring experience.

Must be able to staff the kiosk during peak visit times and gallery events for around 15-20 hours a week during the day on weekdays.

Summary of Responsibilities
  • Operate the gift shop kiosk and perform cashier duties, like processing credit cards, at regularly assigned shifts.
  • Organize and manage gallery merchandise, stocking, and maintaining product displays.
  • Welcome and share information about the artwork and educational resources with patrons.
  • Setting up and/or moving the kiosk during gallery events as needed.
  • Assist other gallery staff in monitoring the gallery and serve as a trained substitute for the gallery docents when needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
  • Must be a current UVU student and have been awarded Federal Work-Study for  and 206-2027 through UVU Financial Aid.
  • Have the availability to work at least 15-20 hours per week on weekdays
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Can track, balance, and reconcile transactions effectively
  • Experience applying effective customer service techniques
  • Can use basic word processing and digital communication tools proficiently
  • Experience supporting gallery conversations and visitor questions with broad subject knowledge
  • Able to demonstrate strong organizational and time-management capabilities
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing, including in person and through email or messaging
  • Experience working effectively with the public
  • Able to deliver engaging public presentations and speak confidently to groups
