Position Announcement

Play an important role in helping students access the financial resources they need to achieve their educational goals. In this position, you will support the administration and disbursement of financial aid, aviation alternative loans, and external agency funding, ensuring students receive timely and accurate assistance while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations. Your work will directly contribute to student success by helping make higher education more accessible and affordable.

Summary

of Responsibilities

Evaluates student accounts. Enters refund transactions, including Title IV Federal Loan funds, Scholarship awards, etc. Monitors Title IV refund activity to ensure compliance with Federal guidelines. Receives, evaluates, and approves the release of Alternative Loan refunds for both local and global Aviation students. Coordinates with the Financial Aid department in returning funds to the lender if any student is found ineligible.

Communicates with a variety of people/departments. Resolves problems related to student accounts in Banner. Performs daily account reconciliations and provides reporting information as needed. Verifies information contained on the bank manifest and accounts for receipt of each loan check. Provides assistance to Cash Operations when needed and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from high school (or equivalent) plus two years of relevant work experience.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures. Knowledge of money control and security. Knowledge of business English (spelling, punctuation, and vocabulary). Knowledge of Federal Aid regulations. Interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Skills in the use of computer applications and software. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work well with students, the public, and departments. Ability to work well under pressure.

Ability to analyze and reconcile accounts.
