Job Purpose and Summary
The Pharmacy Technician works as part of the pharmacy team in a retail store, delivering operational and service excellence to customers, patients, and colleagues.
Responsibilities- Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to support pharmacists in managing patient health.
- Operate pharmacy workflow procedures at production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, and drop‑off for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Provide empathetic, personalized service to patients at pick‑up, drive‑thru, over the phone, and at the register, including immunizations when authorized.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, and waiting‑bin inventories.
- Work effectively in a high‑performing team, embrace a growth mindset, seek feedback, and expand clinical and technical knowledge.
- Adapt to flexible scheduling and travel to other stores in the market when needed by business.
- Comply with all federal, state, local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles, and with CVS policies and procedures.
- Support immunization services when licensed, including vaccine preparation, patient education, adverse‑reaction monitoring, and supply tracking as applicable.
- Minimum age 16 years, unless state board of pharmacy states otherwise.
- High school diploma or equivalent, or current enrollment in high school.
- Compliance with state board of pharmacy requirements for licensure and certification.
- Successful completion of CVS Pharmacy Technician training program, including required certification.
- Ability to attend training within specified timeframe and maintain attendance through the schedule, including nights and weekends.
- 1–3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer‑service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store and across locations in the market to meet business needs.
- Mobile and able to remain upright for extended periods.
- Lift, scan, and bag items; reach overhead; stretch or reach out with arms; move fingers repetitively.
- Stoop, lift up to 20 lb, and lift frequently up to 10 lb; maintain full use of lower extremities and back muscles.
- Requires close visual acuity for transcribing, reading, and inspecting small parts.
Part‑time position. Hourly rate: $17.00–$27.00. Salary adjusted based on experience, education, geography, and other factors.
