Microbiology Technician

is seeking to hire a Microbiology Technician for our client in Salt Lake City UT.

Shift Details: 8:00AM-5:00PM

This Microbiology Technician is responsible for performing microbiology and chemistry testing for all client products and sterilization processes.

• Sampling and testing of products for presence of pyrogen, heparin activity testing, and bioburden levels
• Testing of incoming components using FT-IR, melt flow, density, specific gravity, pH, and corrosion resistance
• Sampling and testing of in-house purified water, and those portions of the manufacturing process which utilize water, for presence of endotoxin and/or, microbial load, pH, TOC, and conductivity
• Testing of biological indicators used in the monitoring and release of ethylene oxide sterilization cycles
• Evaluate all new products, modified products, or material changes, to assess sterilization and biocompatibility impact per the requirements of ISO 10993
• Perform general laboratory and test supply maintenance
• Perform other functions as necessary or as assigned

• Computer proficiency and adaptability working with a variety of databases, word processing, spreadsheet, etc.
• Ability to work in a team environment with shifting priorities and requirements.
• Previous experience testing medical devices a plus.
• Good organizational and communication skills required.
• Knowledge of physical sciences, laboratory equipment.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Associate Degree preferred.
• 0-1 years related experience.

Typically requires travel less than 5% of the time.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

This job operates in a professional office environment as well as a laboratory setting.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Work may be performed in a clean room environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time.

Must be able to occasionally move and lift objects of up to 25 pounds.
