About us: Universal Limbs Foundation is a Canadian non-profit dedicated to providing free, customized 3D-printed prosthetics to people in need, particularly in conflict zones and refugee communities. We combine innovation, partnerships, and ethical humanitarian practice to deliver practical, dignified solutions that restore mobility and independence.
Position type: Volunteer
Time Commitment: 10 hours per week
Purpose of the Role: Support the development of a centralized rehabilitation platform dedicated to upper limb amputation cases.
Responsibilities- Identify and prescribe appropriate therapeutic exercises for: below-elbow amputations; above-elbow amputations
- Develop evidence-based exercise protocols addressing: muscle weakness; muscle contraction
- Safety guidelines and essential medical instructions
- Contribute to building a structured, accessible exercise library for upper limb amputation rehabilitation
Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physical therapy or Occupational Therapy. Proven experience with upper limb amputation cases. Interest in humanitarian work and volunteering. Ability to work independently and responsibly in a remote, mission-driven environment.
