PositionSummary
Revere Health is seeking a motivated, customer service-oriented, licensed Pharmacist to join our busy retail pharmacy team in a full-time capacity. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a thriving, energetic, patient-focused location. The Pharmacist provides clinical and retail pharmacy services while ensuring medications are dispensed safely, accurately, and in compliance with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, professional standards, and Revere Health policies and procedures.
The Pharmacist will work collaboratively with pharmacy staff, providers, clinic teams, patients, and caregivers to promote exceptional patient care and support the growth and expansion of pharmacy services. Independent retail pharmacy experience and experience with Pioneer Rx pharmacy management software are preferred.
- Provide support for all facets of daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal laws, regulations, and Revere Health policies and procedures.
- Accurately review, verify, fill, compound when appropriate, label, and dispense prescription medications, devices, and applicable non-prescription products.
- Perform prospective drug utilization review, including evaluation for appropriate dosing, drug interactions, allergies, therapeutic duplication, contraindications, and other medication-related concerns.
- Counsel patients and caregivers on prescription medications, over-the-counter products, devices, administration techniques, side effects, storage, adherence, and other medication-related questions.
- Collaborate with prescribers and other healthcare professionals to clarify prescriptions, resolve medication-related issues, and promote safe and effective medication therapy.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient medication records and make reasonable efforts to obtain relevant medication histories.
- Ensure pharmacy personnel provide safe, accurate, courteous, and timely service to patients and their authorized agents.
- Supervise, support, and provide education and training to pharmacy interns and pharmacy technicians within the scope permitted by applicable law.
- Support and enforce pharmacy policies related to the procurement, storage, distribution, disposal, and security of prescription drugs, controlled substances, devices, chemicals, biologicals, and other pharmacy inventory.
- Maintain appropriate controls against theft, loss, diversion, and unauthorized access to medications and pharmacy records.
- Maintain all required pharmacy records, including records related to controlled substances, inventory, purchasing, dispensing, compounding, returns, waste, and other transactions, in accordance with applicable requirements.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting to the Controlled Substance Database and other required state or federal reporting systems.
- Monitor automated pharmacy systems and pharmacy technology to ensure appropriate operation, accuracy, recordkeeping, and security safeguards.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering, receiving, stocking, rotating, monitoring expiration dates, addressing shortages, and managing returns or recalls.
- Support pharmacy initiatives designed to improve patient care, customer service, workflow efficiency, medication adherence, and pharmacy growth.
- Respond to patient, customer, provider, and staff questions or concerns in an efficient, professional, and courteous manner.
- Address customer complaints appropriately and elevate concerns when necessary.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including securing medications, registers, pharmacy access points, door keys or codes, and alarm systems.
