About True Leap Inc.

True Leap Inc. is a global innovation company building the infrastructure for the knowledge economy. We work at the intersection of education, technology, and digital infrastructure, partnering with governments, enterprises, and development organizations to expand access to learning, connectivity, and opportunity across emerging markets. With operations spanning the United States, Africa, and Asia, True Leap is driven by a mission to build equitable, technology-enabled ecosystems for the future of work and learning.

We are seeking a U.S.

-based Part‑Time Human Resources Manager to help us strengthen our HR foundation — ensuring compliance, consistency, and culture across a growing multi‑country, remote team.

Role Overview

The Part‑Time Human Resources Manager will oversee True Leap’s human resources operations, with responsibility for U.S. compliance and global coordination. This is a strategic and hands‑on role designed for an HR professional who can operate across multiple jurisdictions, time zones, and employment structures. The successful candidate will help design and implement HR systems that scale — supporting recruitment, onboarding, and engagement for team members across North America, Africa, and Asia.

You will report directly to executive leadership and collaborate with country leads and project managers to maintain a unified people strategy across all regions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Global HR Operations & Compliance

  • Manage HR administration and compliance for U.S.

    -based employees and international contractors.
  • Develop scalable frameworks that align with U.S. federal and state employment laws, while maintaining compliance with local labor standards in other regions.
  • Coordinate HR documentation, agreements, and onboarding across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Partner with finance and legal teams to ensure proper contractor classification and payroll administration.

2. Talent Acquisition & Global Coordination

  • Lead or support recruitment efforts for roles in the U.S., Africa, and Asia.
  • Oversee the entire hiring cycle: role definition, job posting, interviews, reference checks, and onboarding.
  • Ensure consistent hiring practices and employer branding across geographies.
  • Work collaboratively across time zones to coordinate hiring, onboarding, and internal communications with distributed teams.

3. Performance Management & Culture

  • Implement goal‑setting, review, and feedback processes that accommodate diverse regional and cultural contexts.
  • Foster a unified and inclusive company culture across continents — celebrating collaboration and shared purpose.
  • Support leadership in resolving performance issues and promoting professional growth.

4. Policy, Systems, and Process Development

  • Draft and update HR policies, handbooks, and remote‑work standards.
  • Recommend and implement tools for HR automation (HRIS, ATS, or global payroll systems).
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy standards (GDPR, CCPA) and best practices for distributed teams.

5. Strategic HR Advisory

  • Advise the leadership team on workforce planning, compensation strategy, and organizational structure.
  • Support cross‑border coordination for initiatives related to learning, talent development, and well‑being.
  • Contribute to HR integration planning for future partnerships, expansions, or regional entities.
Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in a U.S.

    -based HR management role.
  • Proven ability to coordinate HR operations across multiple regions (Africa, Asia, or Europe experience strongly preferred).
  • Deep understanding of U.S. labor laws, contractor management, and multistate compliance.
  • Prior experience in remote‑first or hybrid global organizations.

Skills

  • Strong cross‑cultural communication and time‑zone coordination capabilities.
  • Strategic thinker with a hands‑on approach to HR operations.
  • Exceptional organization and follow‑through skills.
  • Proficient in HR tools such as Gusto, Deel, Rippling, or BambooHR.
  • Fluent in English (other languages a plus, e.g., French or Hindi).
Commitment & Compensation
  • Engagement: Part‑time (approx. 15–20 hours/week; flexible scheduling).
  • Contract: 6–12 month renewable engagement, with potential for expansion as the company scales.
  • Compensation: Competitive hourly or retainer‑based structure, aligned with U.S. market rates and experience.
How to Apply

  • A short cover letter explaining how you have built or managed HR systems for distributed teams.
