Backend Developer

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer to join a development team building an AI-powered privacy compliance reporting platform. This system is designed to help public-sector and regulated organizations automate and streamline privacy compliance obligations under modern data protection laws. This role focuses on building secure, scalable backend infrastructure to support sensitive data governance, records management, and compliance reporting. The ideal candidate is passionate about data security, cloud-native architectures, and building systems that protect privacy while enabling operational efficiency.

• Design, develop, and maintain backend APIs and services to support secure data ingestion, processing, and compliance reporting (e.g., automated audits, records classification, and risk assessments).
• Architect and optimize database schemas for compliance-related data, ensuring data minimization, encryption, and role-based access controls.
• Deploy, manage, and scale cloud infrastructure on AWS, leveraging serverless architectures, storage solutions, and distributed computing to support multi-tenant reporting environments.
• Integrate AI-driven features through APIs to guide users through privacy workflows while maintaining complete audit trails and data integrity.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, data scientists, and compliance subject-matter experts to translate regulatory requirements into reliable backend logic and microservices.
• Implement and enforce system security best practices, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and vulnerability scanning, with a strong emphasis on protecting personally identifiable information (PII).
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and scale backend services to meet growing platform demand.
• Participate in code reviews, technical documentation, and agile development processes.

• 3+ years of experience with server-side development using languages such as Python (preferred),

  QL APIs within microservices architectures (e.g., Flask, Express, Spring Boot).
