Location: Remote U.S. (Eastern or Central Time Zones Preferred)
Industry: Transit Technology & Fare Systems
Travel: ~25% (U.S. & Europe)
As a Solution Architect
, you’ll serve as the bridge between customers and global engineering teams — designing integrated fare-collection systems that connect the physical and digital sides of public transit.
Your work will ensure that every component, from the on-board devices to the back-office software, operates seamlessly together.
You’ll join a collaborative team of technologists who care deeply about urban mobility, public infrastructure, and delivering solutions that make transit work better for everyone.
What You’ll DoShape solutions from concept to delivery: lead technical definition during the bid phase and carry that knowledge into implementation.
Translate needs into architecture: define system requirements, integrations, and data flows that bring complex solutions to life.
Collaborate globally: partner with international development teams to align design, implementation, and product evolution.
Support customer engagement: participate in discovery workshops and technical presentations to ensure clarity and trust.
Own the technical story: ensure completeness, consistency, and traceability across a mix of software, devices, and APIs.
A systems-thinker mindset — able to connect software, devices, and integrations into cohesive solutions.
Fluency in software development concepts
, even if you’re not coding day-to-day.Experience with distributed systems
, APIs, and third-party integrations.Comfort in matrixed, cross-functional environments and a talent for collaboration across cultures and time zones.
Curiosity and learning agility: you pick up new tools and technologies quickly.
Background in transit technology, intelligent transportation systems, or payment environments is helpful but not required.
You’ll thrive in a high-performing, self-directed team that values initiative, clarity, and follow-through. This organization blends technical depth with purpose
—building systems that keep communities connected. Expect meaningful work, steady growth, and a culture that values people as much as performance.
If you love translating complex technology into practical impact
, this opportunity lets you design fare-payment systems that move millions of people every day — while working alongside peers who share your passion for transit and technology.
