Travel-Heavy Commissioning Engineer, Production Lines

Reports to: Manager of Commissioning & Installation

Your Role:

You will lead the final and most visible phase of our projects—bringing complex production lines online at customer sites. This role blends technical expertise, problem-solving, and customer interaction as you ensure systems are fully operational, optimized, and ready for production.

What You’ll Do:

• Execute commissioning of process equipment and full production lines from pre-shipment testing through site startup
• Support system build, configuration, and validation at the manufacturing site
• Lead on-site startup, including system checks, process tuning, and performance validation
• Partner with controls, mechanical, and site leadership teams to deliver seamless installations
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and process issues in real time
• Guide customer teams through acceptance testing and operational readiness
• Train operators and provide hands-on support during ramp-up
• Keep projects on track through clear updates and coordination with internal teams
• Uphold strict safety standards and ensure compliance with food-grade production environments

What You’ll Bring:

• Technical degree in engineering or a related field (mechanical, electrical, process, or other)
• Experience commissioning industrial equipment or process systems, ideally in food or consumer production
• Willingness to travel extensively (~60%), including multi-week international assignments
• Solid understanding and troubleshooting of mechatronic components
• Knowledge of PLC systems (e.g., Siemens or Allen-Bradley); SCADA exposure is a plus
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with a hands-on approach
• Effective communicator who can build trust with customers and cross-functional teams
• Organized and adaptable, with the ability to manage shifting priorities on-site
