Production Team Leader

Overview

Mity Lite Inc., a leader in the production of durable tables and chairs, is looking for a Production Team Lead. The candidate will have a minimum of 3 years leadership experience in a similar role with a working knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Job Location:

Mity Lite Inc - Orem, UT 84057 | Salary Range: $24.00 per hour

Working hours:

5:00 am – 3:30 pm or 6:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, with some Friday overtime possible.

• Provide a positive and safe work environment for all team members in line with MITY policy.
• Monitor and participate in the production of the given area.
• Use hour-by-hour board and Standard Work Instructions to ensure a dependable, repeatable assembly process.
• Work closely with other department personnel and leadership to ensure orders are produced in the same sequence.
• Perform training and use Standardized Work Instructions to ensure proper training of new personnel.
• Ensure that products are built correctly in accordance with the BOM for each style and verify quality meets company requirements and standards.
• Support MIT+Y culture in large decisions and daily interactions (M-Make it Safe, I-Improve Each Day, T-Trust is Key, Y-You Matter).
• Develop direct reports through training and accountability for all company policies.
• Follow packaging and labeling standards for each item produced.
• Have working knowledge of NAV for inventory accuracy, department transfers, and reporting.
• Ensure work areas, machines, and equipment are operating safely, clean, and orderly.
• Provide technical feedback to engineers and VSL on process and tooling problems.
• Report output, scrap, and issues to VSL via a daily report.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of Standard Works, Takt / Cycle Time, and Standard In Process Stock.
• Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.

• Frequent standing/walking (80%).
• Frequent lifting, bending, stooping, and kneeling; occasional lifting over 50 lbs; frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
