Turner Med Tech develops and manufactures products for the medical, life science, physical science, and security and defense industries. We are looking for a part-time (20+ hours / week) experienced CNC machinist, capable of both programming and machining metal and plastic parts using CNC machines including a 3-axis mill, 3-axis router, & lathe.
Responsibilities Duties &Competencies:
- Design, program, and machine parts as required for low volume production, R&D prototypes, production equipment, etc. Must be able to program Haas CNC mill and lathe using CAD/CAM files and manufacture components from raw material.
- Advise R&D Engineers on machinability/manufacturability of designs
- Provide guidance to management in acquisition of machining and manufacturing equipment.
- Confer with equipment vendors to optimize use of machining and manufacturing equipment.
- Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service as required.
- Must be able to use precision measurement instruments such as dial-bores, gages, calipers and micrometers.
- Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations and follow company quality system procedures and work instructions.
- Other tasks as assigned by your manager.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education – High school diploma or GED required. A machining certification and / or degree in an Engineering related field is preferred.
- Machining Experience – A minimum of 4 years’ experience programming and machining within a high precision machine shop.
- Able to lift 50 or more pounds.
- Must be able to program a CNC mill, lathe, and router using Fusion 360 or equivalent.
- Experience with equipment preventive maintenance or emergency maintenance services.
- Demonstrated capability with basic modeling and drafting in Fusion 360 or equivalent is preferred.
- Must be able to use a computer and must have experience using MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Working knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 is a plus
