Description

This role is perfect for a creative self-starter who loves food styling, storytelling, and building community. You’ll have the opportunity to create craveable content, and turn everyday moments into meaningful, high-impact social experiences that support healthier lifestyles. You’ll work closely with our in-house team including our Marketing Director, Art Director, Videographer, Digital Ads and Email Coordinator.

Job Summary

The Social Media Manager will be responsible for consistent and engaging content posting across our social media accounts. This position reports directly to the Director of Marketing and involves close collaboration with team members in the Marketing, Creative, E-commerce & Sales.

Key Responsibilities Social Media Strategy & Execution
  • Execute social media content strategies that balance brand storytelling and sales initiatives to grow followers and engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Brand Manager to ensure content aligns with brand standards and strategic priorities.
  • Develop and manage content plans for Lakanto Canada social channels, ensuring alignment with product availability and local marketing initiatives.
  • Create and implement content and engagement strategies for the Sugar Free Living Facebook Group.
  • Schedule and post campaigns consistently across Youtube, Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, Pinterest, and Linked In under the guidance of the Marketing Director.
  • Maintain an active presence on Instagram Stories with regular updates.
  • Ensure all social media content meets brand guidelines, legal standards, and company compliance requirements.
Content Creation & Design
  • Produce visual and written content using Canva, Cap Cut or other design platforms.
  • Craft engaging, brand-appropriate copy that resonates with the target audience.
  • Source, coordinate, and manage influencer, partner, and brand ambassador content in alignment with Lakanto’s mission and values.
  • Develop, test, and style original recipes for social media content that highlight product benefits, use cases, and brand positioning across platforms (Instagram, Tik Tok, Pinterest, You Tube).
  • Support food styling for shoots (in-house and remote), ensuring all content is visually compelling, on-brand, and optimized for short-form video and photography.
  • Concept and execute recipe-based content series (e.g., seasonal bakes, sugar-free swaps, trend adaptations) to drive engagement and save/share rates.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (brand, design, influencers, R&D) to translate product features into approachable, craveable food content.
Community Engagement & Brand Representation
  • Act as a brand representative by responding to comments, messages, and inquiries in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • Actively engage with other companies, influencers, and brand partners to build connections.
  • Coordinate giveaways, brand collabs and other engagement initiatives.
  • Attend B2C and B2B brand events to capture social media assets, connect with customers, and strengthen industry relationships.
Analytics, Reporting & Performance Tracking
  • Track social performance metrics and KPIs, delivering actionable insights and regular reports to the Brand Manager and VP of Marketing.
  • Monitor trends and identify opportunities to optimize content performance and engagement.
  • Monitor food, wellness, and social media trends (recipes, formats, sounds, challenges) and proactively adapt relevant trends into brand-aligned content.
