Position: Community Outreach Liaison - PROG Development Center (Onsite - West Valley City, UT)

Job Summary

As Community Coordinator, you will be responsible for administering all aspects of the Prog Foundation Center related to the Greater West Valley City youth and community, including, but not limited to the Youth Advisory Council, outreach and marketing focus, and working with internal and external collaborators to build Progressive's presence in the community by coordinating community initiatives and events.

Day to Day
  • Identify and implement current successful networks and communities to adhere to best practices for building and sustaining collaborative technology and community centers.
  • Supervise part-time employees.
  • Manage relationships with individuals, key partners, anchor institutions, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate events and workshops with key stakeholders, councils, and community.
  • Lead initiative with Youth Advisory Council to further the mission and vision of the Center.
  • Other youth engagement initiatives.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, coordinate, and maintain a youth ambassador program.
  • Explore and define the purpose of a Young Adult Advisory Council, oversee its establishment and structure, support recruitment, formalization, effective meetings, and continuous evaluation.
  • Manage relationship with external community partners to recruit individuals, community programs and connect youth and community members to these opportunities.
  • Maintain the PROG Foundation website to ensure accurate and timely communication of PROG Development Center programs, events, and other key information.
  • Create and manage the distribution of event and program initiative related materials (presentations, flyers, newsletter, etc.).
  • Partner with Program Manager and team to improve the quality of programs.
  • Analyze data from survey results from participants.
  • Implement and manage CMS system for managing, tracking and communicating with contacts.
  • Create reporting functionality detailing evaluation on landscape analysis, youth and community member engagement, and survey findings for data-driven decisions.
  • Manage budget related to programming.
  • Represent the company at public events and settings.
  • Various administrative tasks including coordinating, scheduling, creating, presenting, reporting, etc.
  • Ensure the PROG Development Center is consistently stocked with drinks, snacks, and other necessary materials.
You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree in social service, business, or relevant field or 3+ years combined experience in community relations, charity support, and/or event coordination.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Proficiency in platforms and tools such as Mailchimp, Hootsuite, Word Press, and Asana.
  • Ability to effectively work well with a diverse group of people.
  • Excellent organizational skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to work productively in an unstructured environment with frequent interruptions.
  • High ambition and approachability with strong desire to provide support.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation to complete assigned duties.
Preferred Experience
  • Knowledge of management principles and evaluation techniques.
  • Bi/Multilingual speaker.
  • Experience with Social Media/Community Management.
Time Commitment

Hours are generally Monday through Friday between 8-5pm. May need to be adjusted to accommodate the needs of the job as needed to support community & employee events.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
