Prime Landscaping & Snow Removal is a full-service landscaping company with a straightforward and unique design/build philosophy. We believe in having one landscape designer handle the job from its conception on paper, to the realization on your property.

We are seeking an Arborist & Plant Health Care Specialist to join our team. This role combines advanced arboricultural practices with strategic Plant Health Care management, while overseeing tree care operations, field crews, and safety standards across Utah. This is a highly hands-on, field-based position that requires frequent travel between job sites throughout the region.

  • Location: On-Site in Utah

  • Travel: Frequent travel between job sites across Utah is required
Responsibilities
  • Diagnose plant diseases, insect infestations, soil compaction, and environmental stressors affecting trees, shrubs, and turf.
  • Perform targeted chemical and organic Plant Health Care (PHC) applications in compliance with Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF) guidelines.
  • Oversee and execute structural pruning, cabling, bracing, hazardous tree removals, and emergency storm response.
  • Lead daily crew activities, conduct job-site safety briefings, and oversee traffic and site safety controls.
  • Ensure all work meets ANSI A300 standards, ANSI Z133 safety guidelines, and applicable municipal and industry specifications.
  • Safely operate, inspect, and oversee the maintenance of forestry equipment, including bucket trucks, spray rigs, chippers, chainsaws, and chemical injection systems.
  • Maintain accurate application logs, chemical inventories, job reports, safety forms, and equipment inspection records.
  • Recommend climate-appropriate plant species and educate property owners on proper plant care, planting, and root establishment practices.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum of 1+ years of experience in arboriculture, urban forestry, or plant health care operations.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Demonstrated experience operating forestry tools, spray machinery, and specialized safety equipment.
  • Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of Utah's local climate, native and adapted tree species, and regional pest and disease challenges.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Category 3:
    Turf & Ornamental endorsement
    under the Utah Commercial Pesticide Applicator License.
  • Pest Control / Right-of-Way endorsement is also a plus.
