Assistant Manager - University Place Mall

About the Role

Assistant Store Manager at Vans will lead and develop a team of Brand Advocates to deliver brand‑consistent customer experience.

• Lead, develop, and motivate a team to exceed sales, productivity, and customer engagement goals.
• Model exceptional customer service and selling behaviors.
• Supervise daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, floor coverage and task delegation.
• Recruit, hire, onboard and provide ongoing training and feedback to store team members.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures and operational standards.
• Partner with the Store Manager to manage expenses, control shrink, and drive profitability.
• Maintain visual merchandising standards and product replenishment in line with brand directives.
• Promote a respectful, inclusive environment that values diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
• Support inventory management through accurate shipping, receiving and stockroom practices.

• 2+ years of retail or store leadership experience in a fast‑paced, customer‑focused environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; demonstrated achievements and experience valued.
• Proven ability to drive results through teams and exceed sales and profit goals.
• Skilled in coaching, motivating and building high‑performing, diverse teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to influence across all levels.
• Solution‑oriented, flexible and able to manage shifting priorities in a dynamic retail setting.
• Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and retail software tools.
• Physical ability to stand and move throughout the store for extended periods and perform tasks such as bending, reaching, squatting, climbing ladders and lifting light to moderate weight.

Hiring range: $20.00 – $28.50 per hour.

Incentive potential:
Eligible for additional compensation awards, including an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission potential.
