Market Development Manager
The Market Development Manager is a territory‑based role located in Salt Lake City, Utah, reporting to the Sales Operations team. Based in the Salt Lake City region, the role is responsible for growing gross merchandise value (GMV) in target territories by partnering with regional retail leadership to drive strategy, product adoption, lease‑to‑own sales, and brand loyalty.
Responsibilities- Consistently engage field leadership to communicate retailer and customer value propositions and align on mutual business objectives at the highest levels of the retailer organization.
- Conduct business reviews with retail partner field leadership to identify areas of opportunity and develop strategies and tactics to overcome growth inhibitors.
- Work with business leaders to influence and motivate them to meet and exceed business commitments and drive channel sales.
- Educate and inform teams on products, solutions, technology, and available resources to drive channel success.
- Work effectively cross‑functionally to resolve and assess a wide range of issues in creative ways and suggest variations in approach to field and account management.
- Use gathered insights and data to coordinate with people managers across the sales organization to ensure necessary field support for retail partner locations.
- Create strategic plans that can be effectively communicated and executed across teams to achieve business objectives.
- Effectively and proactively use tools and resources, including , to track activities, resolve issues, and share work progress.
- Consistently exceed GMV targets and grow LTO applications through strategic and practical execution of a plan.
- Create and execute strategic sales plans and measure the effectiveness of the strategy and impact on business.
- Resolve compliance cases as necessary to ensure retailers accurately represent Progressive Leasing solutions and options in a timely manner.
- Travel up to 50% of the time, including driving to visit retail stores.
- 6+ years of relevant sales and/or channel management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently exceed quota and grow channel business.
- A valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company standards (mileage reimbursement provided).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate goals, gain commitments, and hold leaders accountable.
- Exceptional collaboration, relationship‑building, and interpersonal skills with the ability to develop working relationships at all levels.
- Experience with or other CRM tools required.
- Ability to build successful business plans and secure commitments with leaders.
