Summary of Responsibilities
  • Preparing, repairing, and finishing interior and exterior surfaces on plaster, drywall, concrete, wood, and other building materials.
  • Applying paints, stains, sealants, coatings, and specialty finishes to protect and enhance university facilities.
  • Patching, sanding, mudding, taping, texturing, and repairing walls and surfaces to ensure professional-quality results.
  • Installing and repairing cabinets, countertops, wall coverings, shelving, whiteboards, decorative finishes, and other facility features.
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide variety of floor coverings, including carpet, tile, vinyl, laminate, wood, rubber, and composite materials.
  • Operating specialized equipment such as airless sprayers, scaffolding, and motorized lifts to complete projects safely and efficiently.
  • Supporting campus maintenance efforts through additional work involving upholstery, signage, and related facility improvement projects.
  • Promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement while maintaining tools, equipment, and supplies.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
  • Graduated with a standard high school diploma or the equivalent, plus one (1) year of painting experience.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduated with a standard high school diploma or the equivalent, plus three (3) to five (5) years of painting experience.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Knowledge
  • Knowledge of painting systems, coatings, stains, sealers, and finishing materials, including proper application methods and surface preparation techniques.
