What You'll Do:

Responsibilities of the Journeyman Plumber include, but are not limited to:

  • Install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems and fixtures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and building plans.
  • Troubleshoot leaks and monitor pressure systems.
  • Use hand and power tools to fit, assemble, and test pipe systems.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other team members to complete repairs and upgrades efficiently and effectively.
General Maintenance & Trades
  • Perform preventative and routine maintenance on plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair building systems and components.
  • Maintain and update service records using our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Assist with minor construction and repair work across trades.
  • Respond to emergency calls and assist during inclement weather or closures.
  • Operate college vehicles and maintain accurate logs.
What We're Looking For:
  • Education Requirements:A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a plumbing certification or degree program from a technical school is strongly preferred.
  • Experience:At least four years of hands-on experience in plumbing and facilities maintenance, including knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Licenses &

    Certifications:

    A journeyman plumber license is required. A valid Utah driver's license is required. Must obtain forklift certification within the first few months of employment.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Proficiency in using hand and power tools, technical manuals, and mechanical equipment. Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project), and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, etc.).
  • Problem-Solving Abilities:Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently to diagnose and resolve maintenance and plumbing issues.
  • Communication & Teamwork:Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with other technicians, contractors, and campus personnel.
  • Organizational Abilities:Strong skills in time management, multitasking, and organization to efficiently handle multiple responsibilities.
