Role Description

The Person al Trainer Team Lead is a full-time, on-site leadership role located in Orem, UT. This position serves as the primary sales leader for Personal Training, responsible for generating PT appointments, conducting consultations, closing training sales, and driving overall department revenue and performance.

The Team Lead is responsible for leading, coaching, and developing a team of personal trainers while holding the team accountable to sales, service, and performance standards. Daily responsibilities include setting and conducting PT appointments, presenting customized training solutions, following up with prospects and members, and converting opportunities into new personal training clients.

In addition to leading the sales process, the Team Lead actively trains clients one-on-one and in small-group settings, designs customized fitness programs, conducts assessments, and monitors client progress toward their health and performance goals. The Team Lead also provides hands‑on coaching and mentorship to trainers, assists with scheduling and appointment management, and helps develop the team’s ability to deliver exceptional training and sales experiences.

The role works closely with club leadership to support member onboarding, assessments, retention, and the promotion of Personal Training and nutrition services. The Team Lead is expected to lead by example in both sales and training, consistently modeling strong member service, professionalism, energy, and accountability.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Serve as the primary sales driver for Personal Training, including appointment setting, consultations, presentations, follow-up, and closing.
  • Generate new PT opportunities through member interactions, assessments, onboarding, outreach, and lead follow‑up.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Personal Trainer team through ongoing training, feedback, and accountability.
  • Track and improve key team metrics including appointments, sales, conversion, revenue, client retention, and trainer performance.
  • Conduct one‑on‑one and small‑group personal training sessions.
  • Design customized fitness programs and monitor client progress.
  • Manage and support trainer scheduling, client assignments, and daily department operations.
  • Partner with club leadership to improve the overall member experience and identify opportunities to grow PT participation.
  • Promote Personal Training and nutrition services through effective member education and sales conversations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, professional, and motivating training environment.
  • Serve as a role model for sales performance, coaching excellence, member service, and team leadership
Qualifications:

Demonstrated expertise in Personal Training and Fitness Instruction, with the ability to design effective, individualized workout programs.

  • Hands‑on experience with Circuit Training and Sports Coaching to support a variety of member goals and fitness levels.
  • Knowledge of Nutrition principles to provide basic guidance that complements training plans and supports healthy lifestyles.
  • Certified personal trainer (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM, ISSA or equivalent); additional specialty certifications are a plus.
  • Previous experience leading or supervising a training team, including coaching performance and organizing schedules. (Preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, with the ability to motivate and engage diverse members.
  • Ability to work on‑site in Orem, UT, including evenings and weekends as needed, and maintain a professional, inclusive attitude.
  • CPR/AED certification and a commitment to safety and adherence to gym policies and procedures.
