Transport Driver

This position is responsible for safely transporting heavy equipment, including diamond grinders, rumble trucks, and side cast machines, to and from job sites throughout the region. The driver will primarily haul specialized road grinding equipment via trailer, with occasional transport of other materials or machinery as needed. This role is essential to keeping crews equipped and projects running on schedule.

Safely load, secure, and transport heavy equipment (diamond grinders, rumble trucks, side casts) via trailer to and from job sites.

Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and trailer inspections in accordance with DOT requirements.

Properly secure loads using chains, straps, and binders to ensure safe transport.

Coordinate with project supervisors and crews to schedule equipment moves around project timelines.

Maintain accurate driver logs and vehicle inspection reports (DVIRs).

Perform routine checks and basic maintenance on truck and trailer equipment.

Occasionally transport other materials, tools, or supplies as needed.

Valid Class A CDL required.

Clean driving record with ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening.

Experience hauling heavy equipment or oversized loads preferred.

Knowledge of proper load securement practices for heavy machinery.

Ability to safely operate and maneuver truck and trailer combinations, including backing and tight-space maneuvering.

Familiarity with DOT regulations and hours-of-service requirements.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

This is a full-time, seasonal position with hours varying based on project schedule. Early morning starts and occasional weekend work may be required to align with job site needs. Competitive pay based on experience. Reliable attendance and strong communication with the crew are essential to this role.
