Bookkeeper with Administrative Support
Location: Orland Park, IL
Pay: $25/hour
Overview: We are a privately owned commercial real estate company seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented bookkeeper to join our team. This role involves managing financial records and performing light administrative tasks, including answering phone calls. The ideal candidate will work in our office three days a week and will report directly to the senior accountant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting Duties: Maintain and update expense reports, receipts, and other financial documents.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including vendor compliance and processing incoming deposits.
- Work with property managers to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Assist with bank reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Organize and file financial documents, ensuring they are easily accessible for audits and reviews.
- Reconcile discrepancies in financial records and resolve any issues promptly.
- Support the preparation of tax documents.
- Administrative Support: Answer and direct phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
- Assist with other general office duties such as filing and data entry, as needed.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, Appfolio) and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and prioritize ad-hoc or other special requests.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with team members.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Work Environment: This role is based in our Orland Park, IL office and requires in-office presence three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday). The candidate must be comfortable working in a professional office environment and managing multiple tasks efficiently.
