The program structure is flexible, allowing teachers to adapt to the needs of each group from Pre-K through Middle School while allowing children to progress and explore at their own pace.
We provide training and complete curriculum.
Position:
The primary focus of a STEM Instructor is to teach Snapology programs, promoting creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving while educating students on STEM concepts. Programs are conducted for children ages 2-14. This role requires internal collaboration with Snapology leadership and represents the organization to parents and children with professionalism.
- Lead groups of up to 24 students through curriculum-guided activities
- Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
- Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of Snapology
- Encourage and monitor progress of individual students and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Prepare for each program by reading curriculum, watching training videos and/or participating in training sessions
- Handle inquiries from parents regarding Snapology programs
- Encourage students and parents to enroll in future Snapology programs
- Participate in periodic Snapology training and staff meetings as required
- Criminal and Child Clearances must be current
- 2 or more years of experience working with children in a classroom or camp environment
- Education degree or teaching experience recommended; teachers or pursuing a degree in education will also be considered
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proven reliability and punctuality
- Weekday after-school and/or evening classes
- Weekend workshops and/or birthday parties
- Summer camps
- Special events, holiday and break workshops
Compensation: $40.00 per hour
This position is part-time. Depending on candidate availability and the time of year, STEM Instructors typically work between 6-30 hours per week.
