Universal Banker I – Floater (Chicago Suburbs)
This is a great opportunity for a Floating Universal Banker I within the Chicago suburbs. The position requires travel to various Illinois locations, excluding those within the city of Chicago. 10% float stipend included.
Job SummaryProvide prompt, efficient, and friendly service to ensure an excellent customer experience for all customers and employees. Acknowledge customers’ needs with suggestions and referrals of appropriate Bank products and services. Perform all tasks accurately and efficiently while remaining in compliance with established Bank policies and procedures. The ideal candidate is outgoing, sales‑oriented, flexible, adaptable, and results‑driven. They must demonstrate the ability to work independently and with a team, make sound decisions, and use critical thinking skills.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Process all teller line transactions at a proficient level, including accepting deposits and loan payments, verifying cash and endorsements, cashing checks, issuing official checks, and providing overrides and approvals.
- Count and balance the cash drawer daily and proactively identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Follow BSA/AML/OFAC policies and/or procedures to report any suspicious activity.
- Maintain integrity by keeping all Bank business and information confidential.
- Engage customers to understand needs and make appropriate product and service recommendations.
- Assist customers with routine questions and account maintenance requests.
- Progress to become proficient in vault transactions, opening and closing banking centers, end‑of‑day processing, operating the Bank’s security system, testing alarms, and completing required reports.
- Prove sound decision‑making to achieve higher limits and authority.
- High school diploma or its equivalent.
- Six months of customer service/cash handling experience required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Must have a smartphone (iOS or Android) that supports the Bank’s IT security guidelines.
