Account Manager - Smart Factory Solutions
Compensation: $90,000 base salary + commissions (estimated $30,000/year by the end of year one)
An established leader in Smart Factory Solutions is seeking an Account Manager to support customer success activities and manage relationships with clients across North America. The role involves acquiring new customers, maintaining productive relationships with existing clients, and representing innovative manufacturing software solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about software sales, eager to learn advanced manufacturing technologies, and skilled at managing the sales cycle from prospecting to contract negotiations.
Responsibilities- Act as a liaison between prospects and customers.
- Research and engage potential clients, including cold calling.
- Acquire new customers and sales partners while strengthening existing relationships.
- Maintain a sales funnel with prospects in various stages of the sales cycle.
- Deliver presentations and demonstrations of manufacturing solutions (on-site and virtual).
- Analyze customer requirements and create tailored proposals.
- Drive the sales process, including pricing, negotiations, and contract closings.
- Stay informed about software updates and their impact on customer needs.
- Maintain accurate CRM records.
- Support and assist in marketing activities such as webinars, customer events, and trade shows.
- Represent the company and products at trade shows and industry events.
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales & Marketing, Engineering, IT, or related fields.
- 5+ years of professional experience, including 3+ years in software sales, ideally with enterprise or automation software.
- Experience in manufacturing environments is highly desirable.
- Strong technical background and knowledge of software solutions, particularly MES systems.
- Skilled in negotiations and managing multi-stakeholder sales processes.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills.
- Self-motivated with a proven ability to manage long-term sales cycles.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
- Residence in the Greater Chicago area.
- Bonus:
Knowledge of a second language (Spanish, French, or Portuguese).
