LVN Staff Nurse
Ampla Health is seeking a compassionate and dependable LVN Staff Nurse to support providers and patients in our medical clinic. The LVN Staff Nurse provides clinical support, promotes efficient patient flow, and delivers quality, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities- Room patients and obtain/document vital signs, height, and weight in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Collect and process laboratory specimens according to established protocols.
- Perform diagnostic tests and administer immunizations and medications as directed.
- Assist providers with patient care, clinical messages, pharmacy calls, and follow-up needs.
- Provide patient education and support care plans and advanced directives.
- Interpret PPD skin tests and document results appropriately.
- Maintain accurate and timely EHR documentation and daily worklists.
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical instruments and equipment.
- Perform laboratory equipment control testing as required.
- Prepare and stock exam rooms.
- Participate in staff meetings, required training, and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all clinic, safety, and infection-control policies.
- May be required to work at other Ampla Health locations as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Current and valid California LVN license required.
- Current CPR certification required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient health information.
- Primary care/outpatient clinic experience preferred.
- One year of acute care experience preferred.
- Knowledge of Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) practices preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and push up to 100 pounds on wheels.
- Ability to stand and walk for most of the workday.
- Ability to bend, squat, kneel, reach, sit, stand, stoop, crouch, and twist as needed.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Position may involve exposure to airborne and blood borne pathogens and requires adherence to appropriate safety and infection-control procedures.
