, you will participate in the day-to-day accounting functions in corporate finance. In this position, you will routinely work with varying levels of management at both the corporate office and the company’s parks. You will work with the accounting manager to take a leadership role in the execution and the development of accounting procedures and analyses.
Responsibilities include:
- general ledger (g/l) entries, including analyzing and understanding supporting operational and financial records and accounts to ensure entries are posted correctly
- g/l account reconciliations, including analyzing supporting records, and following up on variances
- work on accounting transactions including marketing, various expense accruals, etc.
- review contracts and provide input to management of various departments to align transactions with accounting guidance
- assist in the facilitation of audit processes
- generate financial reporting documents and develop ad hoc analyses for both internal and external customers
- provide technical accounting responses and solutions to management and auditors based on analytical reviews
- perform detailed reviews for work performed by accounting staff, and discuss review activity with auditors
- provide assistance to other corporate finance/accounting functions such as financial reporting, budgeting, etc.
- special projects and other duties as assigned
- bachelor's or master’s degree in accounting
- cpa or cpa candidate preferred
- 5+ years of accounting experience or 3+ years of public accounting experience (3 busy seasons)
- ability to collaborate with key stakeholders throughout the organization including fp&a and department heads
- ability to apply technical accounting concepts into requested accounting and audit projects
- ability to independently complete work in a timely manner
- ability to complete ad hoc projects at the request of management or auditors
- strong communication skills
- proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines in a team environment
- solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (gaap)
- experienced in researching technical accounting guidance and providing educated opinions and suggestions for application
- highly proficient in excel – able to use excel to quickly analyze data, can easily perform all standard functions (xlookup, sumifs, if, nested if, pivots, among others)
- able to think critically to assist in the streamlining/automation of processes
- strong organizational skills
- experience in sap preferred
