Accounting Manager, Financial Reporting, Financial Controller
Controller
Compensation: $165,000–$175,000 + Bonus + Equity
Location: Orlando, FL (Onsite)
This is a non-traditional Controller opportunity positioned at the crossroads of technical accounting, SEC reporting, and public-company operations within a fast-growing, publicly traded organization.
You’ll join a Big 4–caliber environment with strong leadership, an excellent culture, and meaningful long-term equity upside—while maintaining balance beyond typical public accounting demands.
What sets this role apart:
Public-company exposure with significant technical complexity
Heavy emphasis on technical accounting and judgment-based issues
Hands-on involvement in monthly and quarterly close at a public-company level
Equity participation beginning after year one
Fully covered medical premiums
Brand-new downtown Orlando offices with a collaborative executive team
Opportunity to serve as a technical authority—not a transactional controller
This role is well suited for someone who enjoys deep technical work and SEC reporting and wants to remain closely involved in complex accounting matters without being siloed.
Partner with leadership on technical accounting and external reporting matters
Drive quarterly close processes with a focus on technical accuracy and compliance
Interpret and apply complex accounting standards
Prepare and review technical accounting memos and position papers
Support SEC filings and disclosures (10-Qs, 10-Ks, footnotes, tie-outs)
Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, and external auditors
Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and public-company reporting requirements
Active CPA required
Big 4 public accounting experience required (audit or technical accounting)
Hands-on experience with technical accounting and SEC reporting
Strong knowledge of lease accounting, revenue recognition, and public-company close
Experience in a public or public-company-ready environment
A technically strong CPA seeking depth rather than volume
Someone who prefers complex accounting challenges over large-team management
A Big 4–trained professional ready to move in-house without sacrificing rigor
A candidate seeking long-term growth, equity upside, and career stability
