Tax Manager

This role exists because the owner should not be doing everything anymore.

The firm has grown steadily. The client base is strong. The work is there. What’s missing is another senior tax leader who can share responsibility and help shape how the firm runs day to day.

This is a small CPA firm with high standards and a sensible way of working. The environment is calm because expectations are clear, not because the work lacks challenge.

From day one, this role sits alongside the owner. You will be trusted with real responsibility rather than eased in slowly or kept at arm’s length. You will own client relationships, review complex work, and be involved in decisions that actually matter.

The firm operates a genuine hybrid model. Most of the team works from home two to three days per week. Time in the office is used for collaboration, judgement calls, and mentoring, not box ticking.

The work itself is varied and engaging.

Around 800 to 900 tax returns a year across 1040s, 1120s, and partnerships, with a meaningful amount of trust and estate work.

Clients range from early stage businesses through to established companies with revenues up to $60m across construction, wholesale distribution, manufacturing, hotels, and professional services.

This suits a Tax Manager who:
