Accounts Receivable Specialist - AIA Construction Billing
Orlando, FL | Fully Onsite | $55,000–$60,000 | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist with a strong background in AIA billing and construction accounting. This role requires someone who can immediately step into a fast‑paced environment and manage complex construction billing processes with minimal ramp‑up time.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and submit AIA pay applications, progress billings, and contract‑based invoices.
- Manage billing through customer and general contractor portals, ensuring compliance with project requirements and deadlines.
- Process and track lien waivers, releases, and other construction‑related documentation.
- Review contracts, change orders, schedules of values, and project documentation to ensure accurate billing.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Post payments, reconcile accounts, and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Partner with Project Managers and Operations teams to ensure timely and accurate invoicing.
- Maintain organized project billing files and supporting documentation.
- Assist with collections activities while maintaining positive client relationships.
- 3+ years of Accounts Receivable experience in the construction industry.
- Hands‑on experience preparing and submitting AIA billings/pay applications.
- Experience processing lien waivers and construction‑related billing documentation.
- Experience with customer and contractor billing portals.
- Strong understanding of progress billing, retainage, change orders, and construction contracts.
- Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to billing accuracy.
- Experience working for a general contractor, subcontractor, or construction‑related organization.
- Familiarity with job costing and project accounting.
