Key Responsibilities of the Net Revenue Accountant- Prepare monthly revenue close packages, journal entries, and supporting schedules
- Analyze net revenue trends, patient accounts receivable, and key financial variances
- Maintain and update accounts receivable reserve models, including bad debt and contractual reserve calculations
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accurate reporting of net patient revenue and AR balances
- Prepare monthly revenue forecasts and assist with annual budgeting activities
- Partner with Revenue Cycle and Finance teams to improve the accuracy of revenue reporting and financial results
- Prepare audit work papers and support internal and external audit requests
- Evaluate accounting processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting, and special accounting projects
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration required
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Healthcare accounting or hospital net revenue experience strongly preferred
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting required
- Strong understanding of accrual accounting and GAAP
- Experience with patient accounts receivable, revenue recognition, or reimbursement accounting is highly preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
- CPA preferred, but not required
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements
