This role is ideal for an experienced accounting leader with deep SEC reporting expertise who enjoys technical accounting, regulatory reporting, and partnering with executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities of the Director of Financial Reporting- Own the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and related public company disclosures
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and close activities
- Serve as the technical accounting expert for complex transactions and evolving accounting standards
- Oversee external audits and coordinate with auditors on financial reporting matters
- Develop, enhance, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Operations, and executive leadership on strategic initiatives
- Support regulatory reporting requirements and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards
- Drive process improvements to strengthen reporting accuracy, efficiency, and scalability
- Mentor and develop accounting team members while fostering continuous improvement
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 10+ years of progressive Accounting and Finance experience
- 5+ years of SEC reporting experience
- Proven ownership of SEC reporting and public company filings
- Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing 10-Ks, 10-Qs, and related SEC disclosures
- Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance experience is required
- Strong technical accounting background with deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- CPA strongly preferred
- Experience leading external audits and working within publicly traded organizations
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements
