Construction Bookkeeper

Job Description

A growing construction company in Orlando is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Construction Bookkeeper to support the daily financial operations of its projects. In this role, you will maintain accurate financial records, process invoices, manage data entry, and facilitate smooth communication across project teams and vendors. You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and contribute with a proactive, team-first approach while gaining exposure to all aspects of construction accounting.

Responsibilities

+ Perform accurate and timely data entry for financial transactions and project-related expenses.

+ Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.

+ Maintain, update, and reconcile financial records using Quick Books (preferred).

+ Assist with job costing, vendor payments, and tracking project expenditures across multiple construction projects.

+ Support document management and reporting requirements specific to construction projects, including formats such as AIA where applicable.

+ Collaborate closely with project managers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to support financial and operational needs.

+ Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, regarding financial and project-related matters.

+ Manage multiple assignments simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

+ Adapt to changing priorities and support various administrative and accounting functions as needed.

+ Contribute to the overall financial efficiency and success of construction projects by providing reliable bookkeeping support.

Essential Skills

+ Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry.

+ Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and general bookkeeping practices.

+ Experience using Quick Books, with the ability to maintain and reconcile financial records.

+ Strong data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

+ Familiarity with construction-related financial processes such as job costing and tracking project expenditures.

+ Strong organizational and task management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.

+ Excellent verbal and written communication abilities for interacting with internal teams and external partners.

+ Ability to work independently while effectively managing competing deadlines.

+ Flexibility and adaptability to take on a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+

Experience with Procore or similar construction management software is a plus.

+ Experience working with AIA billing formats or similar construction-related documentation is beneficial.

+ Comfort collaborating with project managers, vendors, and subcontractors on financial matters.

+ A proactive, team-first mindset and a willingness to support both accounting and administrative functions.

+ Interest in gaining exposure to all aspects of construction accounting and contributing to project success from behind the scenes.

Work Environment

This is an in-office role based in Orlando, working Monday through Friday with a flexible schedule as needed. You will operate in a dynamic, fast-paced construction environment where organization, communication, and attention to detail are highly valued. The position offers close collaboration with operations and project teams, regular interaction with vendors and subcontractors, and the use of tools such as Quick Books and construction-related platforms like Procore.

This is a Contract position based out of Orlando, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
