Job Description

Are you an experienced accounting professional with expertise in general ledger accounting, month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting? We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant II to support our Finance & Accounting team by maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and assisting with financial reporting and audits here in Orlando, FL
.

This role is ideal for an accounting professional looking to grow their career in a fast-paced environment while working closely with finance leadership and cross-functional departments.

What You Will Do:

  • Prepare and post journal entries accurately and timely in accordance with monthly closing schedules.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close process for assigned business units and accounts.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including complex balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Analyze and investigate financial variances, account discrepancies, and reconciling items.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for monthly financial reporting.
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets and profit & loss reports.
  • Collaborate with accounting leadership to ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist with annual external audits and provide requested financial documentation.
  • Support budgeting processes by answering accounting-related questions and providing financial data.
  • Participate in special projects, accounting system implementations, corporate reorganizations, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting accuracy.
Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty and responsibility. The requirements listed below represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.

What You Will Bring:

  • 3-5 years of accounting experience in a general ledger and month-end close environment.
  • Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
  • Previous experience supporting audits and financial reporting activities preferred.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • General Ledger (GL) Accounting
    • Account Reconciliations
    • Financial Reporting
    • Month-End Close
    • Variance Analysis
    • Balance Sheet Reconciliations
    • Journal Entries
    • Budget Support
  • Advanced proficiency with:
    • Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, financial reporting)
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Outlook
  • Experience with accounting and ERP systems preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required.
  • Hospitality, resort, timeshare, hotel, property management, or corporate accounting experience.
  • Experience with large-volume transactions and multi-entity accounting.
  • Exposure to financial system conversions, integrations, or process improvement projects.
  • CPA track or CPA eligibility is a plus.
