About the Role

As our Controller in the Hotel Division, you will report directly to the VP of Accounting and Finance and serve as a key financial leader for hotel operations in the Orlando market and beyond. You’ll partner closely with the Chief Operating Officer, General Managers, and property leadership teams to provide the financial clarity, analysis, and strategic guidance needed to manage, optimize, and grow these dynamic hospitality businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic financial leadership and partner closely with the COO, hotel leadership, and the VP of Accounting and Finance to deliver actionable insights that drive informed decision‑making, cost optimization, and growth initiatives.
  • Oversee general cost accounting, financial reporting, and the full range of accounting duties tailored to hospitality operations across multiple sites.
  • Lead the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, profit & loss reports, and variance analysis.
  • Maintain and enhance the general ledger with precision, including invoice coding, new account setup, reconciliations, month‑end close processes, and consolidation activities.
  • Manage monthly bank account reconciliations, verify deposits, resolve banking inquiries, and oversee cash management processes.
  • Direct accounts payable operations, ensure accurate invoice verification and allocation, and maintain strong internal controls.
  • Collaborate with external auditors by preparing documentation, coordinating audit support, and ensuring seamless audit processes.
  • Prepare and file required federal, state, and local tax forms while ensuring compliance across jurisdictions.
  • Lead or support special projects as needed to support the evolving needs of our growing hotel division and broader enterprise, including process improvements, system implementations, and acquisition integrations.
  • Mentor and develop accounting talent within the division, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
What You Bring to the Table (Qualifications)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field (CPA or CPA‑track strongly preferred; MBA a plus).
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant leadership in hospitality, hotel, multi‑entity, or multi‑site operations (Orlando/Florida market experience highly desirable).
  • Deep expertise in GAAP, financial reporting, cost accounting, month‑end close, bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and hospitality-specific metrics (e.g., RevPAR, ADR, occupancy analysis).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, complex formulas, financial modeling) and accounting software/ERP systems (Quick Books, Sage, Net Suite, or similar).
  • Proven leadership and team development skills, with excellent organizational abilities, sharp attention to detail, strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities, and a sense of urgency paired with outstanding follow‑through.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills—you’re comfortable presenting financial insights to senior leadership and collaborating cross‑functionally.
Benefits and Culture

We offer a supportive, values‑driven culture that emphasizes integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You’ll enjoy significant autonomy to own your work, direct visibility with senior leadership, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a company known for exceptional hospitality and guest experiences. Competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and robust opportunities for professional growth round out the package.
