Staff Accountant

Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its growing accounting team. This is a hands-on, full-cycle accounting position responsible for supporting the general ledger, month-end close, account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has experience working in Net Suite and a strong foundation in corporate accounting. Experience with in a manufacturing, distribution, or other inventory-based environment is highly preferred.

This is not an AP or AR-focused position. The Staff Accountant will have direct responsibility for core general ledger activities and will work closely with Finance and Operations across the business.

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and other accounting adjustments
• Perform general ledger account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Assist with preparation and analysis of financial statements
• Review general ledger activity for accuracy and proper classification
• Support inventory accounting, cost accounting, and related reconciliations as applicable
• Assist with fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, and other balance sheet accounts
• Maintain accurate accounting records within Net Suite
• Support internal and external audit requests
• Partner with Operations and other departments to research and resolve accounting issues
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting
• Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and analysis as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience
• Hands-on Net Suite experience strongly preferred
• Strong general ledger and full-cycle accounting experience
• Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close
• Understanding of U.S. GAAP and fundamental accounting principles
• Manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-based industry experience highly preferred
• Ability to independently research and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively across Accounting, Finance, and Operations

The strongest candidates will have worked as a Staff Accountant, Corporate Accountant, GL Accountant, or Senior Staff Accountant in a manufacturing or distribution environment and have direct experience using Net Suite as part of their day-to-day accounting responsibilities.
