The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting the organization’s daily accounting and financial operations. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. The role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Perform daily cash reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
- Administer credit card expense reporting, vendor setup, and customer account maintenance.
- Prepare and file sales and use tax returns and maintain business registrations.
- Support audits, financial reporting, and compliance initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams and assist with special projects as needed.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software platforms.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Accounting experience within the construction industry or a related field.
- Experience with accounting systems such as Quick Books, Sage, SL, or Dynamics.
- Familiarity with construction accounting software, including Procore or Viewpoint.
- Experience with financial analysis, audits, and tax compliance activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
