Pay Rate: $23.18/hr.

Shift: Office Hours 1st Shift

Position Summary:

The Clerk/Cashier performs administrative and clerical duties related to the collection, recording, and processing of payments from tenants, vendors, and the public. This role ensures accurate financial record-keeping, excellent customer service, and compliance with Client's policies and HUD regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and process rent payments, fees, and other revenues from tenants and clients.
  • Issue receipts and maintain accurate records of all cash, check, and money order transactions.
  • Balance daily cash receipts and prepare deposits in accordance with agency policy.
  • Respond to tenant inquiries regarding account balances, payments, and billing issues.
  • Maintain and update tenant payment records in housing software systems (e.g., Yardi).
  • Perform general clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and maintaining financial logs.
  • Assist in preparing reports and documentation for audits or internal reviews.
  • Ensure a professional and courteous front-desk presence for tenants and visitors.
  • Comply with confidentiality requirements and federal regulations (HUD guidelines).
  • Support administrative staff and other departments as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required, associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of cashiering, accounting, or clerical experience.
  • Experience working in a government, nonprofit, or housing agency environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and housing software (e.g., Yardi).
  • Excellent communication, math, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle cash accurately and maintain confidentiality.
