Job Description:
Receives and sorts U.S. Mail and interdepartmental communications efficiently and accurately. Ensures timely distribution of mail to the appropriate departments and individuals. Maintains records of incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring proper documentation and tracking. Assists with packaging and shipping items as needed. Collaborates with co-workers on the department’s mailing activities. Meets mailing deadlines reliably to keep the department operating on schedule.
Communicates information on mailing processes and procedures. Demonstrates and conveys a favorable image of the organization. Ensures mail resources are used only for work and business purposes. Maintains the confidential nature of mail where appropriate. Assists customers in organizing mailings for expected outcomes. Sorts mail promptly and accurately. Responds to customer inquiries in a timely manner. Demonstrates accuracy in sorting mail for department distribution.
Is knowledgeable of mail rates/classifications and their effect on costs. Analyzes mail piece costs and makes recommendations on alternative or appropriate mailing methods. Uses or recommends outside mail processing services when appropriate. Performs routine user maintenance on Mail Room equipment to ensure minimal downtime. Makes effective use of Mail Room equipment and time to maintain peak performance. Supports Warehouse by stocking shelves.
Supports Receiving Dock by making deliveries within the hospital. Other duties as assigned.
